Emergency care: Treating life-threatening sepsis within the hour

Emergency care: Treating life-threatening sepsis within the hour:

In a draft quality standard, NICE says people showing signs of sepsis must be checked thoroughly and carefully. Once someone is classed as high-risk they should be seen by senior staff and given the correct treatment within an hour. Life-threatening sepsis is a condition that arises when the body’s response to infection causes injury to its own tissues and organs.

Common signs and symptoms include:Fever;Increased heart rate;Increased breathing rate; andConfusion.
  • St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH doesn't believe in Sepsis treatment. They let the patient die and never let on that the patient had SEPSIS!
