15 Signs You May Have a Blood Infection

15 Signs You May Have a Blood Infection

When sepsis, a condition that results when infection enters the bloodstream, occurs the immune system is greatly compromised when the body attempts to put the proper defenses in place.  However, if existing health concerns are an issue (i.e., such as cancer, a recent surgery, AIDS, or immune deficiency due to advanced age) a blood infection can be life threatening.

An Epidemic of Septicemia? 2016 Article, But still an Epidemic

An Epidemic of Septicemia?

While prevention efforts have largely been focused on chronic disease, spurred in part by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) insistence that 86% of healthcare dollars are spent on patients with chronic illness, it turns out that the largest, fastest-growing and possibly most preventable diagnosis is arguably the most acute diagnosis of all: septicemia.

In his spare time, when he feels up to it, Ronnie Roberts walks through hospital parking lots slipping informational flyers onto every windshield. Roberts wants people to know the signs of sepsis, the body’s overwhelming response to a blood infection, which can lead to organ failure and even death. If he had known the signs and insisted that his fiancee was treated appropriately, he believes she’d still be alive. (And if I had known, my husband would be alive also!)
My Comment:There seems to be progress being made, but when the Hospital denies the patient life saving antibiotics, fluids and oxygen and only offers a Morphine drip, it's time to hold these Hospitals accountable for the deaths they're causing.

Don't Mistake 'Palliative Care' for 'Abandonment of Care' Crock of shit at St. Josephs Hospital

Don't Mistake 'Palliative Care' for 'Abandonment of Care'

This Commentary is the complete opposite of how NON-consensual Palliative Care at St. Josephs Hospital in Nashua, NH is practice. Patients get NO treatment for anything. Morphine overdose is all they get!
